Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
PickAChannel ("the app", "we") is a bring-your-own-source IPTV client. We do not host, provide, or sell any content — this policy covers only how the app itself handles data.
Data you provide
Any connection you add (M3U/M3U8 playlist URL, Xtream Codes server address and credentials, or XMLTV feed URL), along with your profiles, favorites, watch history, and theme preferences, is stored using your own private iCloud account (via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store and CloudKit). This data is never transmitted to or stored on any server we operate, and we have no access to it.
Purchases
PickAChannel Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or store your payment information.
Movie/show metadata
To show posters, cast, and ratings for movies and shows, the app requests metadata from The Movie Database (TMDb) through a proxy server we operate. This proxy relays the request and does not store or associate it with your identity beyond standard, short-lived server access logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp) used only for abuse prevention.
Advertising (Free tier only)
If you use PickAChannel's Free tier, the app displays ads served by Google's Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). To do this, the SDK may collect device identifiers (such as your device's advertising identifier) for ad delivery and measurement.
On iOS, the app asks for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before requesting personalized ads. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized based on your activity across other apps.
PickAChannel Pro removes ads entirely, and no advertising SDK activity occurs for Pro users.
See Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google itself handles data collected through its ad services.
Children's privacy
PickAChannel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since the app displays third-party ads on its Free tier, it is not intended for use by children.
Your choices
- Manage or revoke ad tracking permission anytime in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Delete a connection, profile, or all app data directly within PickAChannel — this removes it from your iCloud account.
- Upgrade to Pro to remove ads and the associated SDK activity entirely.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
